Action Land & Environmental Services Ltd. offers qualified environmental and land professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including environmental science, agriculture, land reclamation, plant ecology, soil science, range management, land acquisition and maintenance services.
We support continuing education and are an active member of the Saskatchewan Environmental Industry and Managers Association, Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists, Alberta Institute of Agrology, Canadian Land Reclamation Association, International Right of Way Association, Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen, and Canadian Association of Petroleum Land Administrators.

Brian Bohnet
Through the years, Brian has specialized in land acquisition, stakeholder and indigenous relations for various projects throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. This includes various upstream and mid-stream oil & gas activities, renewable energy acquisition and stakeholder relations, utility acquisition, NEB maintenance and abandonment activities and various municipal projects.
As a fellow landowner in the community, Brian has first-hand knowledge of various farming/cattle operations and has developed lasting relationships with local producers and community members. Contact Brian at brian@actionland.ca.

Shannon Armstrong, B.Sc., P.Geol., P.Geo.
Primarily focused in the upstream oil and gas industry she also has experience working on commercial, industrial, and municipal sites. She has extensive experience designing, managing and conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments; spill assessments; soil remediation programs; groundwater assessments; Detailed Site Assessments; and Acknowledgement of Reclamation/Reclamation Certificate applications throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. Project management, client relations and report writing are also her fields of expertise.

Joel Heese, B.Sc., P.Biol.
Joel brings 22 years of experience managing the impacts of various land uses in Alberta. Former roles within the provincial government and resource companies give him unique insight as he leads the team responsible for assessment and authorizations. He brings his broad knowledge of the Alberta environmental regulatory regime as it applies to resource development interests like oil, gas and renewables, as well as specialist SE Alberta regional knowledge including the assessment and approval of projects on federal land under the Impact Assessment Act (i.e., Canadian Forces Base Suffield). He recognizes that all land uses come with impacts and takes pride in working with proponents to avoid and minimize those impacts while respecting project limitations.

Cathy Acton, M.Sc., RPP, PAg

Cathy has managed all aspects of environmental projects and has ensured technical quality of client deliverables for impact assessments, environmental protection plans, water management plans, weed management plans and other associated documents for submission to municipal, provincial and federal regulators.
Cathy has also conducted environmental monitoring and inspections on numerous construction projects in the mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, utility and pipeline industries. She provides practical and economical solutions to clients to facilitate and manage successful project completion from an environmental perspective. In addition, Cathy has conducted environmental risk assessments and developed risk management policies and procedures related to earthworks and water management activities, as well as implemented internal permitting processes to manage critical environmental issues during construction.
Cathy has liaised with regulatory authorities regarding wildlife management and habitat preservation, wetland management and impact mitigation, spill response and reporting, and community consultation activities. Contact Cathy at cathy.acton@actionland.ca.
